Huawei MA5800-X2 is an OLT (Optical Line Terminal) designed for use in various types of PON networks. It is the successor to the previously popular MA56XX series, offering compatibility with newer standards and support for a wider range of line and control boards. The main application of this product is the deployment of large passive optical networks such as FTTH, FTTD, FTTB, or FTTC using GPON, XG-PON, or XGS-PON technologies. It is suitable for delivering residential services, connecting businesses, creating wireless network backhaul links, or building extensive Wi-Fi systems. The MA5800 enables you to consolidate multiple types of services into a single advanced device. The MA5800-X2 features a chassis designed for installation in a standard 19" rack, occupying 2U of height and providing space for 2 line boards. It is ideal for smaller locations where a large number of ports is not required. At the same time, it consumes significantly less power compared to larger terminals in the MA5800 series.
The package includes 2 MPSD-G control boards and 2 PISC power boards. The MPSD-G board serves as both the control and uplink module, featuring 4 SFP+ slots with 1/10 Gbps throughput. It provides all necessary functionalities and can support up to 4096 multicast users or ONTs. The PISC power boards support a standard input voltage range of -48 V to -60 V DC and are equipped with 3V3 DC connectors. The use of dual power modules allows for redundancy—if one power supply fails, the other automatically takes over to ensure uninterrupted operation.

OLT terminal
The offered product is a transmitting OLT terminal that can operate in passive optical networks (PON) or point-to-point (P2P) networks. In the first case, depending on the installed line boards, it supports GPON, XG-PON, or XGS-PON networks; in the second case, it offers GE / 10GE connections. It is ideal for FTTH, FTTD, FTTB, or FTTC solutions. The primary applications, in combination with a suitable PON line board, are FTTH or FTTB networks, where services are delivered directly to an apartment or to a building (and then distributed to individual units).
Advanced Features
In addition to functioning as a transmitting terminal, the device also supports numerous Layer 2 and Layer 3 features. It includes support for OSPF and BGP, as well as advanced QoS functionality. The device is fully optimized for IPTV transmission and supports multicast, including IGMP and MLD Snooping, as well as IPv4 PIM / PIM-SSM. Newer software versions also support VXLAN and SRv6. 19" Rack 2U Chassis, 2 Line Board Slots
The MA5800-X2 chassis is designed for installation in a 19" rack and has a height of 2U. It supports the installation of up to 2 PON or P2P line boards, depending on the needs of a given location. In a full configuration, the OLT can provide up to 32 PON ports (GPON / XG-PON / XGS-PON), 96 GE ports, or 16 10GE ports.
2 MPSD-G Control Boards
The set includes 2 MPSD-G control boards, which also serve as uplink (upstream) boards. Each board features 4 SFP+ slots that can function as uplink or cascade ports. These ports support transmission speeds of 1 or 10 Gbps. Additionally, the board is equipped with an RJ45 console port, a BITS/TOD port, two RJ45 alarm ports, and an extra Ethernet port for communication.


2 PISC Power Boards (DC)
When purchasing the product, you receive 2 PISC power boards, designed for -48 V or -60 V DC power input (with a full voltage range of -38.4 V to -72 V DC). The input connectors are 3V3 DC. Unlike the PISA module, the PISC consists of two separate units, which further enhances the overall system reliability. Both modules operate redundantly—if one fails, the other automatically takes over.
