The Ubiquiti G3 Starter Kit is a basic starter set designed for the UniFi Access system. It consists of a Door Hub Mini, one G3 Reader, and additionally 2 NFC keyfob cards. It allows you to control the opening state of a single pair of doors but will require an additional reader or button for people exiting the location. The set can be connected to a compatible electric or magnetic lock from Ubiquiti or another brand. The included reader allows door access using NFC cards/keyfobs, Touch Pass (by tapping a phone), or the mobile app, and it also supports gesture-based unlocking by waving a hand. The Door Hub Mini is equipped with 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps). The first port provides PoE++ input (802.3bt), while the other two provide PoE output (802.3af). This allows you to connect and power two readers simultaneously.
Door Hub Mini
The set includes a hub designed to manage a single pair of doors. It requires the use of a compatible electric or magnetic lock (you can use solutions from Ubiquiti or other manufacturers). The Mini version is simpler than the standard Door Hub, as it lacks an alarm connector and comes with fewer relays. The device has 3 Gigabit Ethernet ports (10/100/1000 Mbps). The first port provides PoE++ input (802.3bt), while the remaining ports provide PoE output (802.3af), with a total maximum PoE output budget of 45 W. This allows you to connect and power two readers simultaneously.
G3 Reader
The reader included in the set allows door unlocking using NFC cards/keyfobs, Touch Pass (by tapping a phone linked to an Apple/Google account), or the mobile app.
Application
The offered product is a basic set that helps you implement UniFi Access in a building. It consists of a reader and a hub, but you will need to purchase a suitable lock and a second reader or button (to control doors for people exiting). Due to its attractive price, the set is well-suited for small offices and basic access control applications.
