UniFi Protect Recorder

The offered product is an IP recorder designed to operate under the UniFi Protect system. It enables support for up to 15 HD cameras, up to 8 2K cameras, or up to 6 4K cameras simultaneously. It is also compatible with the Access series and supports up to 50 hubs. Additionally, the device supports the ONVIF standard, allowing you to connect cameras from other manufacturers, which is very useful when upgrading a surveillance system. UNVR Instant requires connection to a Layer 3 router or switch in order for IP addresses to be assigned to the cameras.

1 3.5" HDD Drive Bay

Inside the enclosure, there is space for one 3.5" HDD hard drive. The manufacturer recommends a CMR drive with a minimum capacity of 1 TB and a speed of 7200 RPM. The drive power budget is 11 W.

7x 1G Ethernet Ports, 6x PoE-Out, 1x HDMI

The recorder is equipped with a total of 7 1G Ethernet ports. One serves as an uplink port, while the remaining 6 provide PoE output (802.3af). The maximum output power per port is 15.4 W, with a total power budget of 40 W for all ports. This is more than sufficient to connect 4 high-power cameras (e.g., G6 Pro) or 6 standard cameras.

An additional HDMI port allows you to connect an external display for live monitoring. You can configure the viewing layout directly from UniFi Protect.

Desktop Enclosure

The manufacturer has used a desktop-type enclosure with the additional option for wall or DIN rail mounting. A mounting bracket is included in the set. UNVR Instant features an integrated 60 W AC power supply, so you only need to connect a power cable to the device.

Ideal Solution for Home

Due to its attractive price and integrated PoE switch, the UNVR Instant is perfect for home use. In a standard setup, where you install 4 cameras (one on each wall of the house) and an additional one or two facing the driveway or garden, it allows you to support all devices without the need for an additional switch.
