Ubiquiti Wave AP Gen2 is a base station designed to operate in the 60 GHz band. It features an integrated 90° antenna and supports up to 31 clients. The maximum total throughput is 5.4 Gb/s (2.7 Gb/s symmetrical), allowing you to offer subscribers high data packages without worrying about base station performance. The transmission range depends on the client device used: according to the manufacturer’s data, it is up to 0.9 km when connected to the Wave Pico (shortest range) and up to 6 km when connected to the Wave Pro (longest range). Wave AP Gen2 is equipped with a built-in 5 GHz radio that serves as a backup, activating in case the main link is lost (e.g., during severe weather conditions). The 5 GHz radio uses the 802.11ax (Wi-Fi 6) protocol and supports a maximum throughput of 800 Mb/s. At the bottom of the housing, you’ll find RP-SMA connectors that allow you to attach an external 5 GHz antenna to extend the backup transmission range.
The unit is equipped with 1 SFP+ slot (10 Gb/s) and 1 2.5G Ethernet port. The Ethernet port also functions as the PoE power input, supporting both 24 V DC and 48 V DC (full details can be found in the specifications below). With the accessories included in the set, you can mount the Wave AP Gen2 on a pole.
60 GHz Base Station, 90° Antenna
The offered product is a base station designed to operate in the 60 GHz band, supporting PtMP access point mode. You can connect up to 31 clients to the device, and it features a built-in 90° antenna inside the housing. The connection range depends on the client device used, varying between 0.9 km with Wave Pico and up to 6 km with Wave Pro / Long-Range.

Throughput 5.4 Gb/s
Wave AP Gen2 stands out with very high throughput – 5.4 Gb/s (2.7 Gb/s symmetrical). This allows you to offer subscribers packages comparable to those provided by cable operators. To handle such high speeds, the product is equipped with a powerful quad-core ARM processor clocked at 1.4 GHz.
5 GHz Backup Radio
In addition, the device features a backup radio operating in the 5 GHz band. It activates in case of a main link failure, for example during heavy rainfall. The backup connection uses Wi-Fi 6 technology and the 802.11ax protocol, with a maximum throughput of 800 Mb/s. Inside the housing, there is a built-in 95° sector antenna with a gain of 13 dBi. Furthermore, the Wave AP Gen2 is equipped with RP-SMA connectors, allowing you to connect an external 5 GHz antenna with higher gain.

Pole Mounting
The device is fully designed for outdoor use and features an IPX6 protection rating. Using the accessories included with the Wave AP Gen2 set, you can mount it on a pole, with the bracket allowing for tilt angle adjustment.
