The MikroTik wAP LR80G kit is a gateway designed for LoRa transmission at a frequency of 868 MHz. This technology is intended for Internet of Things (IoT) applications, providing a very long transmission range at the cost of low bandwidth and high latency, which are not an issue for transmitting data from sensors. For internet communication, the wAP LR80G kit has 1 fast Ethernet port and a wireless Wi-Fi 4 N300 interface (2.4 GHz band). An additional advantage is the built-in GPS modem, which enables tracking of the current location. The device can be powered via PoE, a DC socket, or an automotive connector. The package includes a power adapter, PoE injector, and mounting accessories.
LoRa gateway
The offered product is designed to function as a LoRa gateway, supporting the frequency range of 863 - 870 MHz. It stands out with a wide receiver sensitivity range of up to -141 dBm, which allows for a good transmission range. Using the 6.5 dBi antenna kit, the range is approximately 15 km in rural/suburban areas or 2 km in urban areas.
LoRa transmission is designed for wireless communication with various sensors and other devices used in IoT solutions that do not require high bandwidth and low latency. The advantage of this technology is the ability to transmit data over very long distances at a relatively low cost. The device is compatible with the open-source infrastructure of The Things Network.
Wi-Fi 4 N300, 1 fast Ethernet port
The device is designed to transmit Wi-Fi 4 in the 2.4 GHz band. It supports IEEE 802.11 b/g/n protocols and 2x2 MIMO (dual-chain), with a maximum theoretical throughput of 300 Mb/s. Wi-Fi allows you to use local wireless IoT devices, and you can also create a network with internet access, eliminating the need for an additional access point. The device also features 1 fast Ethernet 10/100 Mb/s port and supports GPS.
IP54 protection rating, three power options
The enclosure has been designed for outdoor use and has an IP54 protection rating. The package includes a bracket for wall/ceiling mounting, a metal clamp for pole mounting, and a stand for placing it on a shelf.
You can power the device using the PoE (passive) input, a DC socket, or an automotive connector. For PoE and the DC socket, the input voltage range is 9 - 28 V DC, while for the automotive connector, the range is 12 - 30 V DC. The package includes a 24 V / 0.8 A power adapter and a PoE injector.
RouterOS Level 4
The MikroTik wAP LR8G kit features the RouterOS operating system with a Level 4 license. You can manage it using WinBox, taking advantage of all the functions offered by the Latvian manufacturer's software. Users unfamiliar with MikroTik software can use the graphical interface available through a web browser.
