The SG6654XHP is a professional, managed aggregation switch operating at Layer 3 (L3), fully compatible with the Omada SDN ecosystem, designed as a stackable device that is ideally suited for the role of a distribution or aggregation element in extensive, demanding infrastructures. The switch features a total of fifty-four ports, including forty-eight Gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports with comprehensive Power over Ethernet Plus (PoE+ in accordance with 802.3at standard) support, and six SFP+ slots with a throughput of ten gigabits (10G), enabling the implementation of ultra-fast backbone connections. The SG6654XHP provides full support for Layer 2 (L2) management functions and advanced Layer 3 routing protocols such as static routing, OSPF, RIP, and VRRP. The physical stacking capability allows multiple units to be combined into a single logical switch, which significantly simplifies network management while increasing its reliability and scalability. The device features a high total PoE power budget of seven hundred twenty watts (720 W), enabling the efficient powering of a large number of end devices, such as Wi-Fi 6 access points or IP cameras. The device's design is adapted for mounting in a standard 19" Rack cabinet and occupies a height of 1U. Power is supplied by a built-in AC power supply, and to ensure continuity of operation, the switch offers the option to add a redundant power supply (RPS – sold separately). Management of the SG6654XHP model can be performed using an intuitive graphical Web interface in standalone mode or via the centralized Omada SDN platform.
Product Application
The Omada SG6654XHP is a managed PoE+ Layer 3 switch that offers L3 Routing, high 10 Gbps wired speed, stacking, and redundant power, meeting the needs of the convergence layer. It delivers an incredible total PoE power output of up to 1440 W*, 48 Gigabit PoE+ ports, 10 SFP+ slots, and physical stacking. Centralized management, high level of security, and extensive management features make this switch an ideal solution for SMB, Enterprise, and ISP applications.
PoE Support in IEEE 802.3at/af Standard
The 48 PoE ports operating under the IEEE 802.3at/af standards provide up to 1440 W of total power for 802.3at and 802.3af devices*, with each port capable of delivering up to 30 W of power. Easily install wireless access points, surveillance cameras, IP phones, and other PoE-powered devices and avoid the hassle and cost associated with running additional power cabling. Perpetual PoE ensures uninterrupted power delivery to devices, even during switch reboots. Additionally, the switch retains PoE power settings after rebooting thanks to the Fast PoE functionality.
High-Speed Connectivity and Efficient Stacking
The 48 Gigabit RJ45 ports and 6 10 Gbps SFP+ slots provide up to 216 Gbps of switching capacity per unit. Physically stacking up to 8 units strengthens the network structure with its performance and built-in redundancy.
Extensive Layer 3 Capabilities
The switch is equipped with multiple Layer 3 routing protocols supporting network scaling. Static Routing, RIP, OSPF, ECMP, VRRP, DHCP Server, and DHCP Relay are supported. PIM-DM and PIM-SM multicast routing protocols ensure efficient routing for multicast groups.
High Availability
Replaceable, hot-swappable redundant power supplies and VRRP are the ideal choice for reliable network architecture**. ERPS supports fast protection and recovery in ring topology.
Advanced Security Features
Network protection against multiple threats is provided by ACL (IPv4 and IPv6), Dynamic ARP Inspection, IEEE 802.1X, MAB, Port Security, and Secure Shell (SSH).
Omada SDN
The Omada system offers centralized cloud management and multiple management features, such as Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP)†. The Software-Defined Networking (SDN) platform Omada integrates the operation of network devices, including access points, switches, and gateways, providing completely centralized cloud management from a single interface.
In addition to centralized management via the Omada application, the SG6654XHP switch can also be easily managed via the web configuration page or the Command Line Interface (CLI). In both cases, traffic is protected by SSL or SSH encryption. SNMP (v1/v2c/v3) and RMON allow the switch to be queried for valuable information and for trap messages to be sent in case of unexpected events.
