The Tapo H200 Smart Hub serves as the central control unit for the entire Tapo smart home ecosystem. It connects to various sensors, smart buttons, and switches, managing up to 64 devices simultaneously, ensuring scalability and reliability, especially in larger home installations. The hub connects to the Internet via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi, providing constant communication with the mobile app, while it uses energy-efficient 868 / 922 MHz radio transmission to communicate with Tapo accessories, guaranteeing excellent coverage across large areas. The built-in speaker/chime with adjustable volume and selectable tones significantly expands its functionality. In combination with a Tapo Smart Button (sold separately), it can work as an indoor doorbell, or as a loud alarm system — when a paired sensor (e.g., magnetic, sold separately) detects an event, the hub instantly triggers an alarm sound. All management, configuration, and monitoring of the Tapo ecosystem is handled conveniently through the dedicated Tapo app, available for both Android and iOS.
